This medicine contains the active ingredient finasteride which belongs to a group of medicines called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. These medicines stop the production of 5-alpha reductase enzyme by preventing the conversion of the testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (hormones). This causes the prostate to stop growing and become smaller. Finasteride is prescribed for the treatment of prostate gland enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia) which causes urinary problems.
Is Finasteride suitable for me?
Finasteride is not suitable for everyone. Do not use it

Finasteride interacts with other medicines. It is most important that you tell the doctor all the medications and herbal supplements that you are currently taking.
See the package leaflet for a complete list of possible contraindications and warnings.
How should I take Finasteride?
