This medicine contains the active ingredient Clopidogrel which belongs to the group of medicines known as antiplatelet medicinal products. These medicines impede the formation of blood clots (thrombus) which can cause stroke or heart attack by blocking the blood vessel. They manage to do this by preventing platelets (small blood cells that stick onto each other when blood clots) from sticking onto the arteries and cause thrombus. Clopidogrel is prescribed for the prevention of the formation of blood clots, especially if you had heart attack, stroke, angina, peripheral arterial disease or atherothrombosis.
